 Welcome to the Victorian Competition and Efficiency Commission website

The Victorian Competition and Efficiency Commission (VCEC) is the Victorian Government’s foremost body advising on business regulation reform and identifying opportunities for improving Victoria’s competitive position.



 What's new

 The Victorian Government has now released the final report of the Inquiry into Environmental Regulation in Victoria together with a detailed response.

 The Department of Premier and Cabinet is coordinating the consultation process for the proposed changes to the Subordinate Legislation Act 1994. The proposed changes would extend the regulatory impact statement, consultation, scrutiny and publication processes to legislative instruments (such as Ministerial Orders, codes of practice and licence conditions that apply to a class of people) that impose an appreciable burden.  Inquiry into Regulatory Impediments in the Financial Services Sector The Commission has released an Issues Paper for the Inquiry and called for submissions.

 The Victorian Competition and Efficiency Commission's Annual Report 2008-09 (pdf 963 KB) was tabled in Parliament on 15 October 2009.

 Inquiry into Streamlining Local Government Regulation The Commission has released an Issues Paper for the Inquiry and called for submissions.
