 Draft Report

The draft report, Housing regulation in Victoria: Building better outcomes, was released on 13 July 2005.

The release of the draft report is intended to give interested parties the opportunity to comment on the Commission’s analysis of regulation of the housing construction sector and related issues in Victoria and draft recommendations, prior to the presentation of the final report to Government in October 2005.

The Commission welcomes further participation and seeks to receive submissions by 26 August 2005.

The Commission surveyed a small sample of building practitioners to obtain indicative estimates of the costs of complying with housing construction regulation in Victoria. The Commission welcomes further information on compliance costs and invites interested industry participants to complete the questionnaire. A copy of the questionnaire is available for download and completion: Cost of regulation questionnaire (rtf 363 KB).
